Barack Hussein Obama, Jr. is the junior United States Senator from Illinois and a candidate for the Democratic nomination in the 2008 U.S. presidential election.

Born to a Kenyan father and an American mother, he spent most of his early life in Honolulu, Hawaii. From ages six to ten, he lived in Jakarta with his mother and Indonesian stepfather. A graduate of Columbia University and Harvard Law School, Obama worked as a community organizer, university lecturer, and civil rights lawyer before running for public office and serving in the Illinois Senate from 1997 to 2004.

Of his early childhood, Obama writes: "That my father looked nothing like the people around me—that he was black as pitch, my mother white as milk—barely registered in my mind." The book describes his struggles as a young adult to reconcile social perceptions of his multiracial heritage. He wrote that he used alcohol, marijuana, and cocaine during his teenage years to "push questions of who I was out of my mind". Reflecting later on his formative years in Honolulu, Obama wrote: "The opportunity that Hawaii offered—to experience a variety of cultures in a climate of mutual respect—became an integral part of my world view, and a basis for the values that I hold most dear.

I'm a 12th house plutonian conjunct the South Node...yikes..and I also say to myself..why the hell is my life like this...why do I have to have this life.....it sucks..so much hurt and pain..

With my pluto in 12th conjunct south node..in my past live I had a lot of power and had an affect on a lot of people..that maybe I abused my power..and in the end I died a violent, tragic, and maybe brutal death...which I can believe because of the dreams that I have. its like what I did in my past live...I'm paying for it in this lifetime..which sucks..Also with a 12th house planet...I try to read it as being retrograde...to me it just makes more sense to read it that way...because when u have a retrograde planet in your chart its because u abused that power in your past live and its karmic...12th house is karmic house...so thats why it makes more sense to read it as retrograde.... I wonder if 12th house pluto has anything to do with me as a child having a fear of death? Any other Southnode Conjunct Pluto individuals out there that can give me some insight on this?

Also Scorpio Riser, and Mars in Sag in 1st house.
