Three Awesome XMas Gifts For Beatles Fans

No comments November 30th, 2009

The Beatles Remastered Stereo Box Set

Every album The Beatles released from 1962 through ’70 in remastered stereo! These 16 CDs sound awesome and yes they are a significant improvement over the old 1980s CDs. They are absolutely worth the purchase. Any Beatles fan would love to get this box set as a present.

Ringo’s drums & Paul’s bass in particular sound much better on these new CDs. While these elements (and many others) were often “buried in the mix” on the old CDs now everything can be heard clearly.

Besides the awesome sound, there’s also the awesome packaging and the fact that it comes with a documentary DVD that is not available for individual purchase.

The Beatles Remastered Mono Box Set

The original mono mixes of The Beatles first 10 albums are finally on CD with this mono CD box set. This is a great gift for the really serious Beatles fan because it’s the Beatles albums as they were originally intended to be heard by the band and their producer George Martin.

Many fans will be curious to hear these original mixes because in some cases they are a lot different from the stereo mixes. For example “Helter Skelter” is about one minute shorter in mono.

The Beatles Rock Band Game

This is a great present for any Beatles fan who is also into video games. But I would say that you don’t have to be a gamer to love playing this game. It’s really great for any fan of the band. I think even those who think that they don’t enjoy video games will find that they love playing this game. It’s seriously fun.

The the most fun part of the game for myself is the singing. It’s really a barrel of monkeys to sing these Beatles songs and what’s really great about it is you can even sing the harmonies. This is a great way to learn how to sing harmonies better.

It’s also a really fun party game because three people can sing at once and for the singing part of the game you don’t need any of the expensive Rock Band instruments you just need three microphoens (and these mics are very cheap.)

Beer Wench Costume - Be The Center Of Attention At Any Party

bar wench costume

If you are looking for an original costume idea for Halloween then a tavern wench costume might be what you are after. So what exactly is a tavern wench ?

Get your own serving wench costumes by clicking the link now.

Well, it's basically a period costume but has many modern variations on the theme. A serving wench is a woman or girl that serves in a tavern, bar or Pub. She is and will always be the center of attention in the bar because of the essential role she plays, she either dispenses drinks or is a listening ear to patron's stories.

A tavern wench is character often found in soap opera's, situation characters and other TV series, particularly British soap operas. She is often perceived as shallow or even dumb, because of the way she dresses but in most cases she is dumbing herself down to fit in with the perceptions of the patrons. In reality she has many schemes going on and is generally many steps ahead of all the other characters that inhabit the tavern.

A tavern wench from olden times might wear a peasant top with a bustier or corset on top. She will be attired in an ankle length skirt. She may also sport a simple cloth cap or bonnet. Her costume highlights her ample figure which is used to charm and allure the patrons of the beer hall.

There are all sorts of tavern wench costumes that are more modern. These include Oktoberfest serving wench costumes which are fairly accurate representations of the real servers at the annual Munich beer festival.

A derivation on this theme is the Lederhosen serving wench, who wears the knickerboker pants and braces instead of a skirt.

There are a host of other costumes that follow the same tavern wench theme. Some are very sexy and provocative and may only be suitable for the eyes of your partner or intimate friends. Others mix sexy and flirty to an extent that you can wear them to fancy dress parties without being over the top whilst still providing quite an attraction for other party goers. And with this said, as the host of a party, these costumes are perfect.
