Marrying Dogs?
|
|
There was a story last week about an Indian Man who married a dog on the advice of an astrologer, reportedly,..
For one thing, who knows if the astrologer actually said this or what he meant. In fact knowing it happened in India, unless the astrologer also said “marry this dog and buy it from ME” I am a little skeptical that this was the EXACT intent ..

Indian understanding of souls must be understood as is being said here. Further to that point, many times deities and gurus will come in the form of animals and outcasts to test us – that is probably not teh case here though as this seems to be a form of karmic levellling.
Notice i said levelling and not punishment. We are never punished – except by our own ignorance.
God is all benevolent in the eastern sense. Or you could say God is the part in each of us that knows the truth and when we remember the truth (that we are God), there is no suffering – only when we forget ourselves (our true nature as God) is there suffering.
SO, our “karma” is not punishment in the western sense of “you did this bad, now you must pay” – it is OUR soul wisdom wanting to learn, we chose it – even though we do not remember choosing it because a knot closes between our lives. We are doing it here on Earth because it is easy to learn hard lessons here, with a body and psychology that experience pain easily. This pain teaches us.
yet we incarnate on many worlds, even simultaneously, etc. – In dream states and other times our soul is there.. Some “insane” people have a very small portion of their soul in this body — much of it is in other worlds “lokas” – these worlds exist simultaneously with ours in the realm of time here – and other dimensions we are not aware while so enamored with the “meat suit” we are wearing and serving now.
Awakening the higher vibrations in you are what yoga and meditations are about. – accessing those lighter bodies (koshas) and worlds (lokas) with in you.
These are the teachings -
One more thing about transmigration.
We may choose to go back in to a dog life to learn loyalty or unconditional love or some other admirable trait of the species.
We may come back as a badger to learn courage.
We may come back as a spider to learn to manage details well.
We may come back as a bee to learn to work better in a community.
We may come back as a plant to learn to be better grounded and connected to earth.
These are usually shorter lives and very succinct around a few lessons.
Human beings need to get over their species arrogance. We are the most sophisticated intellectually and have the connection to spirit that other creatures lack. But we are also incredibly selfish and foolish, currently teetering on the verge of destroying the entire planet.
it is this arrogance that justifies many things like torturing and killing “dumb animals” for food and many other atrocity human beings perpetrate without regard to the suffering that results.
Dehumanizing an enemy is a great propaganda tool as well.
All life is sacred in the eastern sense. Although their culture is also changing rapidly now, taking on more western values.

Hey – we were once told to have my daughter marry a Plant! Then when the plant died (from not watering it) that would constitute the first marriage (which was bad) and then when she married a “person” as the second marriage it would be good! Fun stuff!
She is now engaged and we have found other astrological advice to be more suited to her and her future husband.
I admire you taking on this topic. It seems like me, many people have less time to blog.
I love the stimulation of proactive community, writing and interactive media that internet comunication provides.
We have many things to ponder as spirits, as souls, we must rest with our unknowns, our fantasies as conscious abstracts, the way our minds try to interpret reality which is truly far more magical than we can imagine.
Another story from India this month reported an unusual cultural response to a birth defect, so some Indians may wish to see the deformed girl in India as a representation of the Goddess with multi arms and legs, the literal interpretation of all philosophies and mystical arts to characterize or personify (to represent an abstraction in or as if in bodily form) is an attempt to realize some extent of faith in the unknown, and to admire those who move with their faith to go beyond form and love or worship in some forms of sacred relationship/devotion could be respected as an act of spiritual practice itself and is a great cultural stretch for us here in our country, another animistic spiritual cunundrum.
I totally agree with you!!! with all my soul, body and mind!
everytime i start talking about stuff like you were talking about, everyone looks at me weird and they start thinking Im being cool and i dont even believe in what i say….and some think Im totally crazy, and some people think Im super nice,… but no one realizes that this is the truth… and how come only a few people believe in kinda stuff? and whats our responsibility towards this better understanding of our world?
